The working Dog Program

What is the Working Dog program?

Elite Training for Purpose-driven dogs

The Working Dog Program at Bel's Dog Training is designed for dogs who are meant to do more--whether that's service work, scent work, or advanced obedience, ETC. This program focuses on building solid foundations, reliability, and real-world capability through balanced, effective training.

Building Confident, Capable Working Dogs

We tailor the program to each dog's temperament, drive, and goals. From obedience and impulse control to advanced working tasks, your dog will gain clarity, confidence, and the skills needed to thrive in a job-driven lifestyle.

Who This Program Is For

This program is a great fit for:

~High-drive dogs needing structured outlets

~Service-dog prospects

~Dogs being prepared for detection like mold.

~Owners wanting advanced obedience and handler engagement

What's included

Depending on the dog's needs, the working dog program may include:

~Foundational obedience and engagement

~Confidence building and environmental exposure

~Public-access skills

~Scent work, tracking, retrieval, or task-specific training

~Advanced impulse control and neutrality around distractions

~Handler coaching and education

Hope for shelter/rescue dogs or dogs being rehomed

A $150 surrender fee is required when transferring a dog into the Working Dog Program. This fee helps cover essential care and assessments to ensure the dog's health, safety, and suitability for working roles. If you are just wanting more advanced obedience, you won't need to surrender your dog.

What the fee helps cover

~Daily food and basic care

~Veterinary needs, including routine vaccines

~OFA hip and elbow screening

~Embark DNA testing

~Full bloodwork panel

~AKC registration (if the dog is not yet registered)

~AKC CGC (canine good citizen test)

~AKC ATT (temperament testing)

These steps ensure that every dog entering the program receives proper care and comprehensive evaluation so we can place them on the right training path.
